GENERAL INFORMATION.

ARRIVAL OF EXHIBITS,

The Trade Fair opens at 11 a.m. on December 2nd, 1935. Exhibits may be delivered at the Fair from Monday, November 18th, and the Press will be invited to view the exhibits at a private inspection on Saturday morning, November 30th. Exhibitors are particularly requested for their own sake. to have their exhibits ready at that time.

The Organisers will endeavour to give access to stands before November 18th in special cases, if it can be arranged without prejudice to the work of preparing the Fair. Special application must be made in writing to the Organisers in such cases, giving the reason for wishing earlier ac- cess. Arrangements have been made by which Exhibitors may consign cases and goods for ex- hibition at the Fair to local firms, who have agreed to accept delivery of them from the steamer's side and deliver them to the Fair grounds. Such cases must be sent "freight paid" to Hongkong. The names of these firms, and their charges for taking delivery and transporting cases to the grounds of the Fair, will be sent on application to the Organisers. The Organisers reserve the right to refuse to admit to the Fair grounds any exhibits which, in their opinion, cannot be ready for the Press reception on November 30th.

PACKING AND LABELS.

All cases must be carefully packed and must bear special labels, which will be sent to Ex- hibitors on application. Cases must be clearly marked both on the outside and the inside with the name of the Exhibitor and the number of the stand.

PACKING CASES, ETC.

All cases must be unpacked on arrival, and packing, empty cases, wrappers, etc., removed by Exhibitors to the space provided for that purpose; otherwise the Organisers shall be entitled to have the work done and to remove or destroy the packing, cases, wrappers, etc., at the expense and risk of the Exhibitor. The Organisers accept no responsibility for the safe custody of packing cases or for their protection from damage. Packing cases can only be stored at the sole risk of the Exhibitors.

GOODS DELIVERY DURING FAIR.

re-

No goods other than small articles which can be carried by hand may be delivered at or remov- ed from the stands during such hours as the Fair is open to the public, and all packing cases ceived in the grounds before the opening must be removed from the Fair not later than 10 a.m. each morning.

DATES.

The Exhibition will be opened at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 2nd, and closed on Satur- day, December 28th. The price of admission will be 30 cents.

HOURS.

The Exhibition will be opened to the public from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with extensions to mid- night on certain days. The Organisers reserve the right to remove the cover of any exhibit not uncovered between the opening and closing hours, and shall not be responsible in any way for any damage or loss arising out of such action on its part. All stands must be lighted between such hours as may be required, and a representative of the Exhibitor must be in attendance at the stand at all times when the Fair is open to the public.

Stand screens must be rolled back and left in a position where they will not be visible to the public. TICKETS.

One Exhibitor's season ticket will be issued to every Exhibitor for each 100 square feet of space rented.

Each Exhibitor's season ticket entitles the holder to become a member of the Welcome Club on payment of $5. Exhibitors requiring additional tickets for their Principals can obtain these on making written application to the Organisers, at $10 each, which sum must be enclosed with the application. Such additional tickets entitle the holders to enter the Trade Fair and to make use of the Welcome Club.

Complimentary tickets entitling the holder to entry to the Trade Fair are available for distribution by Exhibitors to their friends and clients at the special price of $2 for 10 tickets. The name of the Exhibitor to whom such tickets are issued will be printed on the back of each ticket. Applications for complimentary tickets, made on the prescribed form and accompanied by $2 for every book of ten tickets, must be forwarded to the Organisers.

The ordinary price of tickets of entry to the Trade Fair is 30c. Season tickets entitling the holder to admission to the Trade Fair at any time during its continuance can be had on written application to the Organisers at the price of $3, which must accompany the application. EXHIBITION CATALOGUE.

A catalogue of Exhibitors will be prepared, giving full particulars, in English and Chinese, of each exhibit, as given by themselves on the form provided. The catalogue will also contain particulars of each country participating in the Trade Fair, their principal products, classified index of Importers and Exporters exhibiting at the Trade Fair, and other useful information.

This will be printed in English and Chinese, in a permanent form, and thus, while forming a record of the British Trade Fair, will also be a directory of Business Firms throughout the British Empire. Each Exhibitor is entitled to space not exceeding 100 words in the catalogue for the description of his exhibit, without charge. Additional space can be obtained in the ad- vertising spaces at rates obtainable on application to the Organisers or their representatives.

This catalogue closes for press on August 30th, 1935, and Exhibitors and advertisers are reminded that copy and details for their exhibits and advertisements must be in the hands of the Organisers before that date.

PROMOTION MATTER.

For the benefit of everyone concerned, it is particularly requested that Exhibitors will assist in ensuring that the Exhibition obtains the widest possible publicity. The Organisers will greatly appreciate the active co-operation of all.

Adhesive Poster Stamps for use on correspondence will gladly be supplied free on applica- tion to the Organisers.

EXHIBITORS' REPRESENTATION.

Should Exhibitors from any part of the Empire not wish to send their own representa- tives to Hongkong, arrangements can be made with the Advertising and Publicity Bureau Ltd., to act as their representatives. In such case the latter will undertake the dressing and lighting of the Exhibitor's stand and the display of his goods, and will be responsible for carrying out all the conditions set out by the Organisers above, and conforming with the rules and regula- tions. Attendants will be provided at Exhibitors' stands who will explain all the selling points of the exhibit and will use every endeavour to obtain orders for Exhibitors and/or names and addresses of visitors and enquirers interested in the exhibits displayed.

Exhibitors wishing to take advantage of these facilities should make early application to the Organisers, giving full particulars of their proposed exhibit. This service is undertaken for an inclusive service fee, which is based on the representation required by the Exhibitor.

It must be clearly understood that, while doing their utmost to effect sales and procure orders for the Exhibitors represented by them, no responsibility for the number of sales or orders obtained at the stands will be accepted.

Arrangements have been made by the Organisers to bring a representative from each Do- minion to Hongkong and attach him to their staff, specially to assist Exhibitors from each Dominion and to supervise the exhibits.

INTERPRETERS.

Exhibitors requiring the services of Chinese interpreters at their stands should communicate with the Organisers, who will provide them. In the event of the exhibit being of a technical nature, or of such a character as to require the use of terms or words not in ordinary use, full particulars of the exhibit must be sent, so that the exact Chinese equivalent of such terms may be studied in ample time.

BUSINESS MEETINGS.

Should Exhibitors wish to meet Chinese importers or any section of Chinese business men in conference, arrangements can be made by the Organisers to render Exhibitors' speeches into Chinese, and to deliver them to the meeting without extra charge. Exhibitors must prepare their speeches in English in sufficient time to allow them to be put into Chinese and to be thoroughly considered beforehand.

WELCOME CLUB.

The Welcome Club is situated on the first floor of the Fair building, facing Nathan Road, and above the main entrance. It is exclusively for the use of Exhibitors and their Principals. Admission is by presentation of Exhibitors' season tickets.

SECRETARIAL FACILITIES,

A typing bureau will be found in the Welcome Club, where correspondence may be dictated free of charge. ACCOMMODATION FOR visitors.

Early advice as to amount and nature of acommodation needed by Exhibitors should be sent to the Organisers, who will use every endeavour to satisfy the needs expressed. Exhibi- tors are reminded that Hongkong is very full of visitors from October onwards, and it is essential to arrange booking of accommodation in very good time. CHINESE ANNOUNCEMENTS.

As Exhibitors will require Chinese advertising, pamphlets, wrappers, etc., or Chinese de- signs for decorative purposes, or for their space in the Fair catalogue, they can have the same prepared by the Advertising and Publicity Bureau Ltd., who will guarantee that all Chinese work done by them is correct and suitable for the Chinese who will attend the Trade Fair. Owing to the rush of such work that may be expected during the commencement of the Trade Fair, early application to the Organisers is necessary, accompanied by full particulars of their exhibits and all advertising matter in English that is already in use.

Exhibitors are reminded that, as the primary purpose of this British Trade Fair is to in- terest the Chinese in their exhibits, it is essential that all literature be translated into Chinese. TELEPHONE SERVICE.

Arrangements will be made with the Hongkong Telephone Co. to supply telephone service for Exhibitors at special rates, to be had on application to the Organisers.
